If ants get lost, what they naturally do is that each ant starts doing exactly the same thing as the ant in front of him does. And what happens is that ants eventually will end up in the circle. There is a famous example of the 12 hundred feet long chain of ants who kept marching around and around for 2 days till they died. (James Surowiecki)

The monarch butterfly (Danaus plexippus ) is sometimes called the "milkweed butterfly" because its larvae eat the plant. Most predators have learned that the monarch butterfly makes a poisonous snack.  The toxins from the monarch's milkweed diet have given the butterfly this defense mechanism.  The monarch needs no camouflage in either the caterpillar or butterfly stage because it takes in toxins from the milkweed and is poisonous to predators. The Viceroy Butterfly (Limenitis archippus) has evolved to look like the poisonous monarch. Predators can’t see the difference between them, all they know is that one of them is toxic, so they avoid both.
